The Ellington is a new luxury boutique hotel, built to a very high specification and contemporary design.
Schuco SG Curtain Wall was chosen for a 40 square metre central roof-light, with a shallow 5 degree slope, incorporating automated smoke-vents to the side cheeks. The Schuco AWS60 suite of sections were used for the side-hung windows to the front elevation, due to the unusually large height of over 2.2 metres tall. For the same reason, the AWS65 suite was used for the doors, as they were up to 3 metres tall, incorporating an automatic swing operator. A copper panel feature was designed and supplied by NG, incorporated into the ground floor Schuco FW50+ Curtain Wall.
Forster fire-rated Curtain Wall was selected for use where necessary to the Ground Floor, in-line with fire regulations.
NG also designed and installed the aluminium rainscreen cladding to the rear stair-core, using the Sotech aluminium wallplank system.
